Now in this section we will discuss the most important part of feedback i.e. How to receive feedback.

If nobody is giving you feedback, it means they are giving your feedback to someone else and which is not at all good for you.

You must analyze why you are not getting direct feedback. Have you done something in past, due to which they are not giving you direct feedback.

Keep your critiques close to you, let their hut be in your courtyard,
That way you don’t need soap n water to cleanse your nature,

Before we move on to how to give and receive feedback, first we must understand what is feedback.

Feedback is communication of information about behavior or performance in a way that enables receivers to use it to their advantage and benefit.

Broadly feedback is classified in three types:

  1. Positive: affirming comments about past behavior. Focuses on behavior that was successful and should be continued.
  2. Negative: describes a perceived negative behavior, without proposing a resolution.
  3. Constructive: highlights how a person could do better next time; needs to be delivered sensitively.
